Who We Are

The Mezan International School concept was founded by a group of parents and educators seeking to provide children a top quality education that is balanced with a solid foundation in traditional Islamic education. Believing that children are sensitive and intelligent and that learning takes place when it’s a rewarding and a joyful experience, our approach is project-based, compassionate, thematic, and child-centered.

 

Becoming connected to nature is central to our approach. Nature and the rhythm of nature is integrated through out our learning curriculum. Students take part in gardening, understand the role of nature in their lives, and participate in school projects geared towards beautifying our community. Project based learning is pivotal to our teaching approach. Students produce their own learning, express their creativity, and develop their critical thinking and intellectual development through hands-on activities and interdisciplinary projects.

 

  • We are a fully registered school that meets strict professional standards. Our school is registered with the Ministry of Education and the curriculum we use is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). This is the same accrediting body that accredits universities such as Harvard, Yale, and Wesleyan University.
  • Our world class faculty includes top Afghan educators, international certified master teachers, and Islamic education experts who meet regularly to discuss student progress, develop new courses, and explore new ways to enrich the learning experience.
  • Our teachers, educational counselors, and staff enthusiastically support your journey every step of the way. Our teachers and staff will be available to answer questions and will hold regular meetings with parents to discuss and monitor their child’s progress.
