The Early Years: Grades K-4
Because younger children learn primarily through imitation and doing, our kindergarten through fourth-grade curriculum features much healthy activity and movement. We provide lessons rich in multisensory, experiential exercises that spark learning through action and imagination—and fun. Our curriculum is built on strong academic standards that can be adapted to meet the needs of the developing individual. We understand that students learn in different ways—some by doing, others by listening, still others by seeing or reading. Our curriculum is print-based by design to reinforce solid reading comprehension and study skills.
Our balanced curriculum is designed to be flexible and introduces subjects and skills in a carefully designed sequence to foster natural, healthy development. A Mezan education engages and integrates every aspect of the child. Our compassionate approach encourages critical thinking and intellectual development through hands-on activities, interdisciplinary projects, and thoughtful reading and writing practice.
The Mezan curriculum respects the natural development of children: Our curriculum introduces subjects and skills in a carefully considered sequence to support and nurture the natural development of children. We strive to keep the wonder and excitement of childhood alive and to spark each individual’s passion for learning.
